The Promenade is certainly one of the most distinctive features of the city of Münster.  This 4.5 km ring around the city center marks the path of the medieval city wall.  After the 30 Years War and the destruction it wrought on Münster the citizens decided over time to replace the fortification with a tree-lined path.  Today linden trees border both sides of this circuit with grassy areas on the outer edges and lots of room for bikers, joggers, pedestrians, and dogs on leashes.

What caught my eye, however, is the number of bunnies in those meadows and under the bushes on the outer fringes of the Promenade.  In one short walk between Ludgeriplatz and  Servatiiplatz (where Kapito Language School is located) I counted 34!  I challenge you!  Who can count more bunnies and photograph at least one?  I hear there are some bunnies that are black and white, offspring of pets that folks have let loose on the Promenade.  Who can get a picture of one and post it?

  1. How cool that the city turned this space into a community gathering place! 34, is a lot of bunnies to county in one walk, but they sure are cute.

  3. Every single day I passed hundreds and hundreds of those things, I couldn’t even imagine counting them all. What is truly amazing is how they’ve adapted to the life in Münster with all of their tunnels under the city!
