WordPress: Add a Link

FIRST METHOD:

  1. Open your post in WordPress to edit, or create a new post.

  2. Click on Insert/edit Link (the icon of a chain link) on the tool bar of the body post.

  3. Copy-and-paste the website link into URL and enter the name of the link in Link Text
    Add URL and text name.
  4. Make sure to check Open link in a new tab. Click Update.Click "Open Link in a New Tab" and "Update."
  5. Your link will appear on your text post as blue. Tip: Create links that provide context for readers, not just “click here.”
    Your link will appear as blue text.

SECOND METHOD:

  1. Highlight the text that you would like to make a link.
    Highlight text to appear as hyperlink.
  2. Click on Insert/edit Link (the icon of a chain link) on the tool bar of the body post.

  3. Link Text will already be filled in with the text that you have highlighted. Establish the hyperlink by copy-and-pasting the URL. 
    Add URL and text name.

  4. Make sure to check Open link in a new tab. Click Update.Click "Open Link in a New Tab" and "Update."
  5. Your text should now appear as a blue hyperlink. Tip: Create links that provide context for readers, not just “click here.”
    Your link will appear as clickable blue text.
