Upload Files to Blackboard

  1. Log in to Blackboard and navigate to your course.
  2. Navigate to the content folder in which you’d like to upload your files. (For example, Course Documents).
  3. Hover your mouse over Build Content.

  4. Click either Item or File.

    allow you to add a description to the entry, while File entries take up less room. You may use either option depending your needs.Item and FIle

 

 

Upload an Item Entry

  1. Type a Name for the entry in the name box. This does not have to match the file’s actual name.

  2. Type a Description in the text box.

  3. Underneath the “Attachments” sub-header, click Browse my Computer and select the file from your computer.

  4. Scroll down and set any availability options if applicable.

  5. Click Submit at the bottom right of the page.

    Upload a File Entry

  1. Type a Name for the entry in the name box. This does not have to match the file’s actual name.

  2. Next to “Find File,” click Browse my Computer and select the file from your computer.

  3. Under “File Options,” ensure Open in New Window is set to Yes.

  4. Scroll down and set any availability options if applicable.

  5. Click Submit at the bottom right of the page.

Depending on the size of the file it will take some time before it is ready for students to access. Small files such as Word Documents should take a few minutes to upload, while large files such as videos may take several minutes or hours.
