The Announcements tool allows you to communicate important information with your class. You can use an announcement to do the following:
- Welcome students to the class.
- Remind students of an important date, upcoming quiz or test, or an assignment that is due.
- Let students know of date changes or cancelled face-to-face class sessions.
- Communicate and address any technical or homework problems.
Please note, the course entry point of your course is set to the Announcements tool by default. This means students will see the announcement’s page first when they access your course. Also, you have the ability to send an email to the students’ campus email account using the announcements tool. Select the “Send a copy of this announcement immediately” box near the Email Announcement option to enable that feature.
