Dr. Jack E. Davis

davisBorn in 1956, Dr. Davis is currently a history professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He has written numerous books since receiving his doctorate from Brandeis University in 1994. These works include, but are not limited to: “Paradise Lost,” “An Everglades Providence,” and the history department at the University of Florida’s journal, “Alpata: A Journal of History.” He has won countless awards for his writing, such as the Charles S. Sydnor Prize in 2001, and more recently the Florida Book Award in 2009.
